Thankful...

Today I am thankful to be the only one in my house not with the flu. It was a long night for Gracie last night after an initial eruption at Nana and Grandpa's house! Here I was trying to get her to eat something all day and she wasn't because she wasn't feeling well! Glad I didn't force down any more than the 2 rolls that I did! I was feeling queasy all night but that may just have been due to the proximity of the throw-up to me. This morning, Buck wasn't feeling well (but still went and finished our Christmas shopping for us) but came home sick, sick, sick! Lucas has a touch of it also. The poor little guy is unexplainably fussy and then out comes a big old burp/heave and more fussing cause it was uncomfortable. I'm glad I haven't gotten it (yet anyway). But if I do get it, atleast everyone else should be done with it by then!


Here is a shot of Grace's aforementioned Christmas light bulb scratch. It's kind of hard to see in this picture but it's just above her right eyebrow.

Here are our kids with all their Corser cousins and Great-Grandma Fay. Also a great shot of the previously mentioned hand-me-down, DI, snowboots that Grace just loves! If you could zoom in, you would be able to see that they once belonged to someone named Noelle. I think she really likes them because she can put them on all by herself (I kind of like that too).

Here is Grace, sitting in the most random and uncomfortable place in the room. This was one of the happier moments at the end of our Thanksgiving day...before all the trouble began.

There's always room on Mommy's lap

Sometimes I think Grace prefers her daddy because she has to be with me all day long. And I make her stay in the shopping cart at Walmart. And I make her wear her church shoes to church (rather than her DI snow boots or running shoes). Etc. But I made Buck take this picture so I could remember that she still loves me too.

Little Buddies

This is Lucas (on the left) with our cute little neighbor Hayden Sutherland who is just a month older than him (also born on June 18th...sorry Derek). They were holding hands when I snapped the picture...blast that digital delay! They were so cute staring each other down.

There was a little girl, who had a little curl.....

This morning, Grace came walking down the hall with her blanket over her head and then she crashed into the wall because she couldn't see it obviously. I thought it might cause tears but she laughed and laughed at herself instead. I started to think of all the crazy things that she does everyday that sometimes make me laugh and sometimes make me scream (when I'm really mad anyway). I get so tired of telling her "no" but she does really dangerous things some times. For instance, she was playing around on my bed the other night while I was feeding Lucas and I wish I had it on camera because all of a sudden she was in a headstand at the foot of my bed and her feet went over her head and she had flipped off my bed! She had disappeared from my sight and I was waiting for the tears any second when all of a sudden this little blonde head pops up laughing. If she hadn't landed on her feet, I think there would have been some tears. Instead, she got back on the bed and was trying to recreate her flip! She also has a lovely little scratch on her forehead now because she decided to bang a Christmas light bulb into her head (one of the outdoor ones) and it busted. (I expect she'll be smashing rootbeer cans there too after she's chugged it down and the people around her are chanting, "Gracie, Gracie!") She does good things too though. I'm sitting here watching her eat her fruity cheerios with raisins in it and she is picking around the cereal to eat the raisins first. Plus, of all the green veggies, I can only get her to eat steamed broccoli...so she makes some smart choices!

Toe Jam

While I was ironing this afternoon, I heard "Hi, Buddy Boy! Hi, Buddy Boy!" from the front room and realized that Grace was talking to Lucas (that's her most common greeting for him). I went out to find her tickling his toes and every time she tickled him and he kicked, she kicked too. By the time I got the camera, I missed all of her conversation to him, but caught some giggles.

Dear Scott and Natalie,

So what do you want for Christmas? I have someone in Santa Monica who could get you matching UCLA sweatshirts....ha ha.

Finally!

I'm so glad that I am able to add some more names to my friends and family list! For those of you not on there, start a blog!! It's free and quite easy (yes, Lisa, it is easy. It's learning how to change the background from a standard template that was difficult and that was the root off all my frustration but now that I have that mostly figured out, it's easy too). Do it! Do it! Do it! :)

Don't let Natalie take your picture!

Here we were trying to get a nice picture taken and this is what came out! Just kidding. Scott and Natalie have a camera on their computer and it will take really cool fun house mirror shots. I was actually trying to see how big of an arch I could get in my eyebrow but the camera didn't quite take while I was positioned at the highest point. The sad part is that if I wasn't in the picture looking like Igor...or that guy that I thought was married to Liza Mannelli once but I guess he never was so I never figured out his name but I think he's played Igor a couple of times...you might not know that there was any distortion on Grace's head since her hair really looks like that some days!
